Bailey Sneed
every glass of wine is a
each glass of wine is a
collection of sincere decisions
every vine holds its own
small grief and still pushes
A grape becomes wine
by letting itself be changed
there is no harvest without trust
no wine without surrender
and this too is care
ripeness cannot be forced
we can only arrive soft
and be present enough to receive it
Bailey Sneed is a poet and maker based in California. Their work explores care, labor, and the slow miracles of the body and language. They are an MFA candidate in Writing at UC San Diego, where they teach poetry and study the relationships between voice, land, and transformation.
